The Edinburgh Fringe 2005 Show #006 (MP3 – 10.2MB – 34 min 40 sec)

It’s not all people standing up with a microphone from London at the Fringe, so today’s show takes a look at two of the more unusual acts labelled comedy. Adam Buxton may be off the telly, but that was many seasons ago. He’s brought up a character for a mad mix of comedy and theatre. While Tom Hodge the Jingle Writer isn’t quite sure why he’s up here (he’s even still working remotely in his Edinburgh flat), but he’s having fun.

Pavel - I, Pavel
From Eastern Europe comes Pavel, an avant garde extreme animator. I get a chance to catch up with the troubled artist who is presenting his retrospective here at the Pleasance.

Tom Hodge - Confessions of a Jingle Writer
Tom really is a jingle writer - his show is more Christmas Lectures than Stand up, and he’s a “jolly nice chap.” Join the world of the Creatives as I ask Tom how he came to be on stage at this years Fringe.

Adam Buxton - I, Pavel
The man behind the I.Pavel show, Adam Buxton, has a massie beard. He lives in Stockwell. And his opening joke is about the shooting on the London Tube. How did he get from “The Adam and Joe Show” on Channel 4 to where he is now, how did the character come about, and did he realise how steep the Edinburgh hills are for his bike?
