[Review] The Congress Of Oddities
Performed by two remarkably unalike siamesse twins, this freakshow of sorts – guest staring the one the only “The Biscuit Eyed Lady” – is overflowing with wit, charm and downright filth! Opening the show with a verse or two of ‘God Save The Queen’ did make this Irish reniewer squirm ever so slightly but very soon that squirm turned into a near constant smile only broken by the odd laugh out loud. The highlight was a beautiful rendition of that old classic “I’ve got seventeen pokers and a wand”, the actions beautifully clarified where one is supposed to shove said pokers and wand. The Congress of Oddities is a joy from beginning to end, I’m only sad that I didn’t get to take one home with me – I bid both my shoes!
